Kristen has been offering private piano instruction since 1997. Her students have received awards and distinction in piano competitions and programs including Kentucky Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association and Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts to name a few. Gwen Kinman
Chess Instructor
Gwen Kinman began playing chess at age 7, but her interest bloomed in 2020 when she took her first chess class at a local homeschool enrichment program. In summer of 2023, Gwen became active at the Chess Education Foundation and received her official tournament ranking of 1300 ELO. Gwen has had teaching experience as a sub for the chess class at Sons and Daughters Enrichment Program, where she will be the chess teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Her teaching experience also includes her two years of service as a teaching assistant for kindergarten and first graders at Springdale Community Church and as a summer missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship, where, in the summer of 2022 and 2023, she helped lead and teach Good News Clubs for preschool and elementary aged children in the greater Louisville area. Gwen is looking forward to helping students at Master's Conservatory gain skills, learn strategies, grow their ability to reason and boost their confidence through a game that has been a favorite for centuries.
Hannah Hall
Private Violin Instructor
Hannah Hall, a native of Louisville, began violin and piano lessons at the age of five. Hannah's violin training includes her foundational years with the Suzuki Method, followed by seven years through high school and college with Gloria Spurlock of the Spurlock Violin Studio. Hannah also holds a degree in piano performance from Bellarmine University, and she maintained a thriving private studio, teaching both piano and violin, from 2001 to 2018. Since then, she has enjoyed playing for church and being on the "parent side" of lessons as her two children now learn to play violin. Hannah has participated in music-teaching workshops throughout the country, as well as a brief time studying music in Salzburg, Austria. Hannah brings a range of styles to her teaching, incorporating classical music (Suzuki and traditional approaches), fiddling, music of the church, and improvisation. As a second-generation homeschooler, Hannah is delighted to be joining Master's Conservatory, and believes that music develops our minds, bodies, and hearts in profound ways. She welcomes students 1st-12th grade, at all ability levels.
